Collaborations don’t get much “Better” than this one between Kiana Ledé and Leon Bridges.
Producer Ricky Reed is at the helm of this nostalgic duet, as it serves as the third single from his forthcoming album The Room.
Musically, the instrumentation of “Better” is reminiscent of Tamia’s 2006 hit jam “Can’t Get Enough.” Lyrically, the two singers explore the role of time constraints related to superstars and how they affect them and their relationships with loved ones.
Reed, who co-produced the new track with Nate Mercereau, revealed the inspiration behind it on Instagram.
“This one is about trying to appreciate the silver lining of this tough year: the time we get at home with the people we love,” Reed wrote.
A music video for “Better” arrived at the same time as the official audio. Watch it above.
In April, Ledé unleashed her debut album KIKI. It features her certified-platinum single “Ex” as well as the song “Crazy.”
She shared the accompanying visual for the latter after the release of her “Dear Mr. President” cover.
Bridges has been busy himself. He released a pair of new songs this year, including “Sweeter” with Terrace Martin and “Inside Friend” with John Mayer.
