Rising alt-soul crooner AUGUST 08 is back with a new vibe on his latest song “Bussdown Your Soul.”
Directed by Jason Ano, the track’s accompanying video features the 88RISING crooner posted in front of grainy, intense images of fire and destruction.
Sonically, the thrilling new track embraces a club-ready approach to discuss opening up and breaking down walls amid pressures to stay strong at all times.
“Fuck what you know / Drop tops and hoes / Ice out your chain but can’t / Bust down your soul / You can’t bust down your soul,” he belts on the electrifying track.
“‘Bussdown Your Soul’ speaks to the emotion of being forced to be a part of things you don’t want any part of. In circumstances where you have no choice but to bang or starve, your only choice is to survive,” AUGUST 08 shares about the song.
“Bussdown Your Soul” is the Los Angeles native latest release following his EP, Happy Endings With An Asterisk, back in 2019.
