Jessie Reyez continues to gift fans with new music. The eclectic R&B star keeps the momentum going with Before Love Came To Kill Us+, an extended deluxe edition of her debut album.
Reyez’s latest offering includes two brand new tracks, “Sugar at Night” and “No One’s In The Room.” On the latter, she speaks candidly about how her religious upbringing contradicts her sense of urgency about life as an adult.
“Spend your whole life being graded / Being told you’re not enough / Being told go find the one and sit and wait for death to come / But I don’t wanna / I need to talk to God, there’s things I just don’t understand,” she sings on the somber track.
Reyez released her original version Before Love Came To Kill Us earlier this year to critical acclaim, with its singles “Figures” and the 6LACK-assisted “Imported” being certified platinum by RIAA. The album was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2020 (So Far) list.
