Good thing that Masego has a valid “Passport.” The TrapHouseJazz persona will be Studying Abroad on his forthcoming concept EP due out later this year via EQT Recordings and Capitol Records. It follows 2018’s Lady Lady, which landed a position on Rated R&B’s year-end best R&B albums list that same year.
Masego doesn’t make travel plans to the destination of his next project alone. He invites travel companion and dancehall star Shenseea to tag along on his new track called “Silver Tongue Devil.” Boldly wearing the title of a smooth operator, Masego maps out a middle ground between lightly shaken maracas and a sax-driven ambience, to put his sexy soul charm on his duet partner.
“Silver Tongue Devil” is the right amount of momentum to get fans all aboard for his forthcoming EP. It helps this non wall hugger anthem will have listeners slow-wining to the airplane cabin.
This summer, Masego has been quite a busy man. Following his BET Awards debut in June, the multi-instrumentalist has been seen on stylistically distinct tracks, from the intimate “Good & Plenty” with Alex Isley to the “Stickin’” collaboration with Sinead Harnett and VanJess.
