Kelly Rowland has partnered with the NFL to release a brand new track titled “Hitman,” as part of its Songs of the Season campaign.
The melodious track finds Rowland craving some intimacy from her bedroom assassin. “It’s like, let me hit my hitman, need it one time / When I get him on the line say, “Beat it up” / He come to murder / He come to serve up / I just hit my hitman, know it’s all mine / He’ll be waitin’ outside, come beat it up,” Rowland sings on the chorus.
NFL’s Songs of the Season initiative “highlights superstars and emerging recording artists of all genres, incorporating their music into game broadcasts throughout the 2020 season.” Revenue generation from the campaign will be donated to organizations supported by the NFL’s social justice initiative, Inspire Change.
“Hitman” comes nearly a month after Rowland’s appearance on the soundtrack for Hulu’s original film Bad Hair, which she also starred in. Prior to that, she released her groovy track “Crazy” in October and her delightful single “Coffee” in April.
