Toni Braxton’s winning streak on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs continues. “Gotta Move On” featuring H.E.R. has entered the top 10 region this week.
It is her third consecutive top 10 single of 2020 and second overall off her latest album, Spell My Name. Braxton and Kem are currently holding down the No. 5 spot on this same chart with their soothing duet “Live Out Your Love.”
“Gotta Move On” is also Braxton’s 20th career top 10 on the Adult R&B Songs chart. Out of the 20 charted songs, three of them have been duets, including her work with Kem and H.E.R., as well as Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Braxton and Edmonds’ emotional track “Hurt You” peaked the summit in 2013.
Earlier this year, Braxton claimed her ninth number one hit for “Do It.” She later remixed the song with Missy Elliott. The new LP, which Rated R&B reviewed upon its release in August, featured the standouts “Fallin’” and “Dance.”
As far as H.E.R., “Gotta Move On” makes her sixth top 10 hit on the Adult R&B Songs side. She recently scored a number one hit with Lonr. for “Make the Most.”
In other Braxton news, we revisited her undervalued album Libra in September for its 15th anniversary. We also celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Heat, with commentary from Johntá Austin and Keri Lewis.
