As John Legend awaits to see if he can pull off his third Best R&B Album Grammy win for Bigger Love at the upcoming ceremony in March, the EGOT historian receives good news from the Recording Industry Association of America.
“Conversations in the Dark,” the lead single from his latest album, is now certified gold by the RIAA, with over 500,000 units sold. The Gregg Wattenberg and Pom Pom-produced track is Legend’s first certified recording from Bigger Love, one of Rated R&B’s 30 best R&B albums of 2020.
The tear-jerking tune peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in June 2020. Since its release in January 2020, “Conversations” has been streamed close to 58 million times on Spotify.
Legend recently hung up a gold plaque for his contribution to Ella Mai’s 2018 song “Everything.” He also made walk space last September for his first-ever diamond award for “All of Me.”
