As Tiana Major9 gears up to release At Sixes And Sevens Remixed this Friday, the Grammy-nominated singer shares her “Real Affair (Remix)” featuring rapper Vince Staples.
The song finds Tiana Major9 questioning the future of her relationship. “This obsession, I’m flying / Was caused by trying times, and I just reach for the green when I get in my feelings / There’s a sad underlining, it’s better than crying,” she sings.
Staples appears in the second verse, where hopes things will work out between him and his love interest. “You could be my shade, I know weather come in phases / I hate to think it’s fadin’, I know it’s not true / If anything I know I got you / If anything I know we got through,” he raps.
In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, Tiana Major9 shared why she decided to create a remix edition of her EP, At Sixes And Sevens. “I decided that the songs needed more,” she explained. “We decided that the songs needed more. I already loved the songs, but yeah, I just wanted to get some of my favorite artists on there. Yeah, just push the song a bit more.”
She added, “It’s always interesting to see how other artists approach my songs because obviously, they’re very personal. I write them from personal experiences and yeah, they’re just very personal to me. So it’s always nice to hear how they flip it and how they relate to the concept.”
Last week, Tiana Major9 shared her “Same Space? (Remix)” featuring SiR.
At Sixes And Sevens Remixed will include additional appearances from Jvck James, Lucky Daye and Beam. It will also feature her Grammy-nominated collaboration with EARTHGANG, “Collide,” from Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack.
