Nao is a part of the latest batch of artists to participate in the holiday edition of Spotify Singles. The UK talent shared a rendition of Donny Hathaway’s mammoth 1971 single “This Christmas.”
Elements of the original are present in this experimental production courtesy of George Moore and Andy Vickery, who plays the guitar. Nao’s distinct voice rings with gladness about the nearing festivities, making this cover a satisfying addition to future playlists baked in with joy and cheer.
Earlier this fall, Nao released her third studio album, And Then Life Was Beautiful. She issued several tracks leading up to its arrival, including the title track, “Messy Love” and “Wait.”
Nao co-starred on Serpentwithfeet’s most recent album, Deacon, on a track titled “Heart Storm.” The duet was later supported by a music video.
