Nao focuses on the positive side of things with her third studio album, And Then Life Was Beautiful.
Like many of us, the previous year has been an example of adapting to change, and this album is a reflection of that all across the board.
She began preparing for the album in November 2019, by expanding her studio to invite friends and musicians for a melodic think tank. Bouncing creative ideas into jam sessions turned into a body of work that covers boundaries, moving on from unfulfilled relationships, living in the moment, failure, and the numerous life lessons there are to learn.
And Then Life Was Beautiful features contributions from Lianne La Havas, Lucky Daye, serpentwithfeet, and Adekunle Gold. In addition, it includes the early singles, such as “Wait” and “Messy Love.”
Nao’s last album, Saturn, was released in October 2018. It was among Rated R&B’s 25 best R&B albums that year.
