With Music’s Biggest Night just days away, the Recording Academy has added two more big names from the R&B community to celebrate in song.
Silk Sonic, composed of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, will take the stage on Sunday, April 3, at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The super duo’s breakout single “Leave The Door Open” received four nominations, two of which are in the general field (Song of the Year and Record of the Year).
The Recording Academy also recognized the smash single, co-produced by D’Mile, in the R&B categories, including Best R&B Performance and Song.
Since Silk Sonic performed “Leave The Door Open” at last year’s ceremony, viewers can bet the pair will serenade them with music featured on their acclaimed collaborative album An Evening With Silk Sonic.
Twelve-time Grammy winner John Legend is also set to perform at the ceremony. The night before, he will be honored with the first-ever Global Impact Award for his “personal and professional achievements in the music industry.”
Other previously announced performers include nominees such as H.E.R. and Jon Batiste. Both acts had their recent body of works recognized for Best R&B Album.
In addition, Cynthia Erivo is a part of the lineup, set to pay tribute to Broadway trailblazer Stephen Sondheim.
