Jhené Aiko remains in good standing with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her Kendrick Lamar-assisted track “Stay Ready (What a Life)” has been bumped to platinum, selling more than one million equivalent units.
Appearing on Aiko’s Grammy-nominated 2013 Sail Out EP, the Fisticuffs-produced track was first certified gold for pushing more than 500,000 equivalent units in April 2020.
“Stay Ready (What a Life)” marks the fourth certified release from Sail Out. The project’s biggest single, “The Worst,” went 3x multi-platinum in May 2021.
In 2019, “Bed Peace” featuring Childish Gambino reached platinum status, while “Comfort Inn Ending (Freestyle)” gained a gold award.
Earlier this year, Aiko was sent a gold honor from the RIAA for her 2014 track “Pressure.” It appeared on her debut album, Souled Out, which is too certified gold.
Aiko is set to perform at the Sol Blume Festival in Sacramento, California. The two-day festival will be held at Discovery Park April 30 through May 1.
This August, she’s also booked for the inaugural LetsGetFr.ee Carnival in New York City, where she headlines alongside Missy Elliott and Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals.
Aiko last released the album Chilombo in spring 2020. It was reissued that summer and received an Album of the Year nomination by the Recording Academy in 2021.
