On Wednesday (April 27), Lucky Daye illuminated on stage as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Grammy winner performed his current radio single, “Over.”
As the band and its backup vocalists — one of which was singer RaVaughn — deliver a beautiful, harmonizing intro, Daye gets into full GQ mode and puts on his sunglasses.
Once the repetitive vocal sample from Musiq Soulchild’s classic “Halfcrazy” starts and the lights go down, Daye and his stylish black outfit glow on stage for a stellar performance.

“Over” was released in September 2021 as the lead single from Daye’s sophomore album, Candydrip. Produced by D’Mile, the track peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
It also became Daye’s first Hot 100 entry earlier this spring, arriving at No. 92. As of today, the song has reached No. 77 on this popular singles chart.
Candydrip arrived in March and had immediate success on the R&B charts. The album marked his first appearance on the Top R&B Albums chart, bowing at No. 5 in its opening week.
The follow-up to Daye’s 2019 debut, Painted, was preceded by the tune mentioned above, along with the title track and his Lil Durk-assisted song “NWA.” Daye released the magazine-inspired visual for the latter track earlier this month.
Syd grabbed Daye for a duet on her newly-released album Broken Hearts Club. Their song “CYBAH” was issued as the album’s lead single.
If Daye’s spring wasn’t already good enough, he won Best Progressive R&B Album for Table For Two at the 2022 Grammys.
On May 28, Daye will take the stage at the R&B Only Fest in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, he’ll play Pharrell’s Something in the Water Festival during Juneteenth weekend in Washington, D.C.
