Jvck James is on his way, and it’s why Rated R&B selected him as its inaugural Front + Center artist. The East London native continues to make positive waves within the music industry, impressing Apple Music to serve as their latest Up Next artist.
“To be able to share my story on a worldwide platform fills me with gratitude, especially this early on in my career. I hope my journey can inspire someone to go after their dreams no matter where you are from; it is possible,” he said.
James celebrates joining the platform’s emerging talent roster by releasing a new EP titled On The Rocks. The four-track effort runs for 13 minutes, consisting of newly-shared material, including tracks one through three.
“Drunk Love” comes off like a whirling late-night tale, where calls of slurred speech from an intoxicated interest have become all too familiar. He’s fed up with only being contacted when she’s like this and doesn’t see the situation progressing positively.
But, on track three, “Hennessy Tears,” James finds her nightcap sobbing well over the legal limit but enough to stimulate a romance worth having.
On The Rocks also features his ’90s-inspired jam “Love in The Club,” released in November 2021.
On May 10, James is set to make his late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
In March 2021, James released Joyride. The EP had six songs, including the standout “No Drama.” The project followed 2019’s Detour.
