After getting fans’ input, and Beyoncé’s, Chlöe has released her new single “Surprise.” The sultry tune was co-produced by Scott Storch and IllaDaProducer.
She sings in the chorus, “If you be good to me then I’ma be great to you / If you stay down for me then I’ll stay awake for you / Surprise, slip my panties to the side / Give me your money, baby, I’ll make it rain for you / Feel like you cheatin’ the positions / I play for you Surprise, tonight you get my freaky side.”
“Suprise” arrives with a steamy video directed by Diana Kunst. Actor and model Broderick Hunter plays Chlöe’s love interest.
“Surprise” is the third single from Chlöe’s upcoming self-titled debut album that will release on Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records this year.
Last month, Chlöe hopped on Instagram Live to play three unheard songs from her debut album: “Cheat Back,” “For the Night” and “Surprise.” Many fans were torn between the latter two songs.
Chlöe went to social media to hint that Beyoncé, her mentor and label head, was the ultimate tie-breaker. “When the queen speaks, the queen speaks, and that’s all I’m gonna say,” she said with a smirk on her face.

The slow-burning tune follows Chlöe’s upbeat singles “Have Mercy” and “Treat Me.” The former track, which reached No. 1 at urban radio, was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in January.
Chlöe, who is nominated for four BET Awards this year, is scheduled to perform live at the star-studded event on Sunday, June 26. Ella Mai, Givēon and Muni Long are also on the bill to perform on the main stage.
Before that, she will grace the stage at Pharrell’s Something in the Water Festival in Washington, D.C., with her sister Halle Bailey as Chloe x Halle.
