A new Nija era has begun. The singer-songwriter has shared “Love Like This,” the first piece of new music since releasing her debut project, Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You.
Over an acoustic guitar and smacking backbeat, Nija’s glossy sound guides us through a love story where she’s put her heart in the hands of someone new. It comes after she’s gone through a revolving door of heartbreak.
“You accepted all my baggage, all my baggage / Overwrote my bad habits, bad habits / All that pain I let it go, go, go / Give me love, I need more, more,” Nija sings over the production helmed by IamTash and Jack Rochon.
“Love Like This” is a refreshing change of pace from the toxicity that she fleshed out on Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You. It makes for a moment of reflection when you finally do find that forever in someone.

Since releasing Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You in January, Nija has kept her talent machine well-oiled. She collaborated with Capella Grey on the song “Confujawn,” which premiered in March.
The following month, she and Phabo co-wrote “Tangerine,” a song lifted from Kehlani’s third album Blue Water Road.
Nija’s best moment has yet to come, appearing in the credits of Beyoncé’s forthcoming album Renaissance, out July 29. She co-wrote track two, “Cozy,” alongside the talent of Beyoncé, The-Dream, Honey Redmond and more.
