Silk Sonic (Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars) hit a new peak on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “After Last Night.”
The sensual jam, which features Thundercat and Bootsy Collins, places No. 9 in its ninth week, marking the duo’s fourth top ten single from their successful debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic. It’s also their fifth top ten single as a collective overall.
Silk Sonic’s other Adult R&B victories include “Leave The Door Open” (No. 1 for 13 weeks); “Skate” (No. 4); “Smokin’ Out The Window” (No. 1 for one week); and “Love’s Train” (No. 1 for 13 weeks).
“After Last Night” is Thundercat’s and Collins’ first top ten hit on this list. The song, co-produced by Mars, D’Mile and The Stereotypes, registers the former, Grammy-winning act’s first Adult R&B appearance.
Meanwhile, Collins earns his second entry behind 2011’s “Don’t Take My Funk” featuring Catfish Collins and Bobby Womack, which reached No. 32.
In early July, Silk Sonic sent “After Last Night” to R&B radio as the next single from An Evening With Silk Sonic. Since then, it has yet to receive a corresponding visual like its three earlier singles.
However, that hasn’t slowed down its streams. At the time of this publishing, “After Last Night” has amassed nearly 49 million streams on Spotify.
Also, this week on Billboard, An Evening With Silk Sonic returned to the Billboard 200‘s top ten (No. 7) after soaring 193 positions.
This big leap occurred after the platinum-selling album sold 44,000 equivalent album units during the week that ended Sept. 1. Of that total, 37,000 copies came from its Aug. 26 vinyl release.

Silk Sonic released three vinyl exclusives of the album to different retailers, including their official webstore, Target and Wal-Mart. Standard vinyl editions were available as well.
An Evening With Silk Sonic was originally released in November 2021. The album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 thanks to moving 104,000 equivalent units in its first week.
The duo has gathered several awards for An Evening With Silk Sonic, including Album of the Year at the 2022 BET Awards and R&B Album of the Year at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Their breakout debut single “Leave The Door Open” swept at numerous award ceremonies, including the 2022 Grammys, winning four trophies.
