Rising singer Berhana has returned with a new song, “Sundays,” which he co-wrote and co-produced with Baird and Goldwash.
In under two minutes, Berhana pushes his sound to experimental places, delivering a clever wordplay about turning into a chill romantic over an intricate production.
“Sundays” arrives with a visualizer that Will Azcona directed. It features Berhana sitting under a spreading tree as a purple night sky looms.

Before his latest track, Berhana had not issued a new song since July 2021, when he released “Nostalgia.”
It was a song he performed in Amharic, a language rooted in his Ethiopian heritage. He described the song as “an interpretation of a song that brought me comfort during a dark time.”
Berhana said “Sundays” will not appear on his upcoming album; however, he still believes it “feels like a connecting piece.”
There’s currently no title for Berhana’s next album. It will be the follow-up to his 2019 album, Han. His debut album featured the previously shared tracks “Lucky Strike” and “Health Food.”
“When you have a full-length piece and something you want to be cohesive and feel like one thing, it’s important to pay attention to the little details. That’s what’s gonna make it special. With this, that was my only concern, making sure all the details were there,” Berhana told DJBooth.
In November 2020, Berhana unveiled an alternative version of “Golden,” which appeared on Han. Mereba appears on the updated version. The song has amassed over seven million streams on Spotify.
