2023 NAACP Image Awards Nominees Announced

The ceremony will air live Saturday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. ET.

The NAACP and BET have announced the nominations for the 54th NAACP Image Awards.

Beyoncé dominates the music field with five nods, including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Album (Renaissance) and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song (“Cuff It“).

Chris Brown is close behind with four nominations, including Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding Album (Breezy) and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration – Contemporary (“Call Me Every Day” featuring Wizkid). 

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige lands three nods, including Entertainer of the Year.

Music field aside, Keke Palmer has been nominated in multiple fields, including Motion Picture and Television & Streaming. 

“This year’s nominees have conveyed a wide range of authentic stories and diverse experiences that have resonated with many in our community, and we’re proud to recognize their outstanding achievements and performances,” said NAACP’s President/CEO Derrick Johnson.

BET‘s Executive Vice President of Specials, Music programming & Music Strategy Connie Orlando, added, “We take pride in recognizing the trailblazing achievements and artistry of this year’s esteemed nominees and celebrating the powerful legacy of the NAACP. Public voting is now open until Feb. 10 via the NAACP Image Awards’ official website. 

The 54th NAACP Image Awards will feature its first live audience in three years when it broadcasts live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
