Jon Vinyl is ready to let go of a relationship on his new song “No Feelings,” produced by Axthentic, The 25th Hr and Evan Miles.
Vinyl’s honeyed voice glides over the smooth instrumentation as he tells off a no-good lover. “I’m not here to love you / I hope that you get the message / I’m not giving second chances / Never could I trust you / You got me on the edge / There’s no feelings here baby,” he sings.
Regarding his new single, Vinyl shares, “I’m here to speak the words that a lot of people in relationships find hard to confront. Growing up, my mom would tell me the things that bother you about your partner at the beginning of your relationship will most likely be the same reason(s) why you break up; and she was not wrong.”
He adds, “With the release of ‘No Feelings,’ the goal was to ensure a profound level of ruthless honesty was maintained while taking my listeners on a personal journey through realization and heartbreak. I truly loved putting this piece together because it feels ferocious and liberating to cut the strings loose.”
“No Feelings” arrives nearly two months after Vinyl released his “Pressure (Remix)” featuring Kenyon Dixon. The breakup anthem will appear on Vinyl’s upcoming project, slated to arrive this fall. It will follow his EP Palisade, released in October 2022.
“Palisade is a curated soundtrack of my thoughts and emotions,” explained Vinyl. “A lot of people aren’t comfortable confronting their feelings. When they’re upset, they lash out. When they’re happy, the whole world sees it on the gram. There’s almost this subconscious friction between what one feels versus how they choose to act on those feelings.”
He added, “This project really allowed me to regain internal awareness and ride the wave of emotions, rather than letting them control me.”
Palisade includes the original version of “Pressure,” along with the lead single “Entice Me.” The latter track has more than three million streams on Spotify at the time of publication.
