Kevin Ross has set a release date for his forthcoming EP, Midnight Microdose, Vol.1. The six-track release arrives May 26 via his Art Society Music Group imprint in partnership with EMPIRE.
Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1 is the first in a three-part project rollout. Vol. 2 is set to debut subsequently. Ross will bundle and expand the two EPs for his next full-length album Midnight Microdose.
The former track, the EP’s lead single, arrived in January. He gave the song official video treatment, courtesy of director Steven Jon.
At the time of this publishing, “Look My Way” has reached No. 16 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It’s now No. 17.
In tandem with unveiling the release date for Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1, Ross shared the EP’s cover photograph. In the sizzling cover art, Ross’ eyes are covered by a woman’s delicate hands while he holds a pearl between his teeth.
Additionally, Ross dropped “First Dose,” the EP’s opening track for Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1. It can be heard below.
“‘First Dose’ sets the tone for the whole project. I am always told how short my songs are, so I decided to play into that by creating a project with this theme,” says Ross in a statement.
Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1 is Ross’ first project since Drive 2, which dropped in October 2022. The EP produced two solid singles, “Looking For Love” and “Sweet Release,” the last of which peaked at No. 8 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Of “Sweet Release,” Ross said, “Everybody has a guilty pleasure or something to take them away from the daily monotony. It’s more so about escapism than it’s meant to be sexual or sensual. For me, the main key is the escape.”
