Queen Naija is back with a new single, “Words of Affirmation,” which she co-wrote with Mike Woods.
Aware of what she wants in a long-term commitment, Naija provides any potential partner with uncanny insight into what communication feeds her mind, body and soul.
“Worthy, tell me I’m worthy / I’ll be your peace and everything you need / Just promise not to hurt me,” Naija delicately sings over glistening instrumentation.
Not only can Naija’s song “Words of Affirmation” be an expectation for a future lover, but it can also move any listener who continuously walks the self-loving path. All of this is best heard from yourself — at least according to Queen Naija.
“I always thought it was just a trendy thing for social media, but now i want to incorporate affirmations in my REAL LIFE. I was feeling stagnant and down and realized all I have to do is start feeding myself positive words until I believe them,” Naija wrote in a TikTok post.
“Words of Affirmation” marks Naija’s second song release of the year. In January, she shared “Let’s Talk About It,” another song she co-wrote with Woods. She paired the track with a music video.
Both “Words of Affirmation” and “Let’s Talk About It” follow Naija’s hit single “Hate Our Love” featuring Big Sean.
The collaboration reached No. 1 in September 2022, giving Naija her fourth straight leader on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Shortly after, “Hate Our Love” was certified gold by the RIAA for surpassing sales of more than 500,000 equivalent units.
More recently, Naija landed a platinum plaque for “Pack Lite.” The song appears on Naija’s debut album, Missunderstood.
Also, in 2022, Naija hopped on tracks by Babyface (“Game Over“) and Fivio Foreign (“What’s My Name” with Coi Leray) and supported Mary J. Blige’s headlining Good Morning Gorgeous Tour.
Speaking of live shows, Naija is set to serve as a special guest for two concerts as part of the North 2 Shore Festival. The first show is on June 10 at Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and show two is on June 23 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Jazmine Sullivan and Jhené Aiko headline the Black Promoters Collective-powered shows.
