AFROPUNK Brooklyn has revealed the 2023 lineup for its two-day festival, set for Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 at Greenpoint Terminal Market in Brooklyn, New York.

Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Jazmine Sullivan is set to headline the festival for the first time.  Producer and DJ Flying Lotus is also on the bill as a co-headliner.

Additional performers at AFROPUNK Brooklyn include Baby Tate, Durand Bernarr, Joey Bada$$, Madison McFerrin, Sudan Archives, Toby Nwigwe, Vince Staples and more.

Tickets are on sale now. General admission for the two-day event is $149.50, while VIP tickets range from $309.50 to $459.50.

Before Sullivan heads to Brooklyn, she will travel to Washington, D.C., to headline the Broccoli City Festival on July 16. Then, she will headline the Atlanta Funk Fest in Atlanta, Georgia, on Aug. 18.

Sullivan will be supporting her Grammy-winning album, Heaux Tales. The album was released in January 2021 and reissued in 2022 with an extended edition, Heaux Tales, Mo’Tales: The Deluxe.

Heaux Tales scored Sullivan a few new awards from the RIAA, including “On It” with Ari Lennox (gold), “Girl Like Me” featuring H.E.R. (gold) and “Pick Up Your Feelings” (platinum). The latter track is Sullivan’s first platinum certification. Heaux Tales also scooped up a gold plaque for selling over 500,000 equivalent units.

Before capping off 2022, Sullivan achieved a No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “Hurt Me So Good.” It was her second chart leader on that list following “Pick Up Your Feelings” in 2021.

As for Bernarr, he will launch the second leg of his Wanderlust Tour on Sept. 6 at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida.

From there, he will visit Memphis, Nashville, Detroit, and Minneapolis. In November, Bernarr will head to Europe to perform four shows.

Bernarr’s tour is in support of his sophomore album, Wanderlust. It was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022.

Wanderlust was inspired by Kelis’ sophomore album, Wanderland. “To this day [it] is still one of my favorite albums and played such a major part in my artistry,” shared Bernarr. “This album is a homage to her and the way she paved the way for my eye and my ear. Thank you, Kelis. You’ve always been that girl.”
