Editor’s Note: The Jaguar Tour will now kick off Sept. 15 at The Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Victoria Monét is hitting the road. The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter has announced her headlining The Jaguar Tour.
The tour kicks off Sept. 6 in Detroit, Michigan. From there, Monét will play in major cities such as Toronto, New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Monét will conclude her tour on Nov. 15 in London, U.K.
No special guests have been revealed at this time.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. local time.
Monét’s tour will support her forthcoming album, Jaguar II. The sequel to 2020’s Jaguar will release on Aug. 25 via RCA Records.
The 11-track album will include Monét’s previously shared songs “Smoke” with Lucky Daye, “Party Girls” featuring Buju Banton, and “On My Mama.”
The latter song, which samples rapper Chalie Boy’s 2009 bop “I Look Good,” debuted at No. 16 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart, while “Party Girls” opened at No. 25.
As noted above, Jaguar II is the second and final installment of Monét’s Jaguar series, though it was initially set to be a trilogy.
“It really kind of breathes new life into part one. If you’re just now catching onto me as an artist, you’ll know, it’s because it’s part two, that there was a part one, so you may revisit it,” Monét told Zane Lowe of Apple Music.
“If people are just getting introduced to an artist, if they see a long list, a long album, they may get kind of overwhelmed, so I kind of always intended to microdose my style and my music to people in segments. But as I went on, I just kind of kept adding songs to those little segments. I know that there won’t be a part three anymore, because obviously, didn’t expect to take three years in between part one and part two, or have a child in between.”
