Tinashe has returned to form with her new album, BB/ANG3L, via Ricky Reed’s Nice Life Recording Company.
The seven-track album features previously shared tracks “Needs” and “Talk To Me Nice.” The latter song, co-produced by Nosaj Thing and Scoop DeVille, was the first taste of her new era.
According to Tinashe, BB/ANG3L represents “exploring both how I self-identify and also challenging the perceptions of others.”
“I believe how we identify in this world is ultimately our own personal choice; and I’ve enjoyed stripping back layers of aesthetic fluff, smoke & mirrors, and white noise to get down to the core of myself. Who we are at a core level, when we are alone – raw & unfiltered, is what I want this album to reflect.”
BB/ANG3L‘s songs blend flirty and irresistible vibes, making you want to leave the late-night spot, sweaty, with your crush. These themes are evident in tracks like “Treason” and “Uh Huh.”
The album is not limited to just sexy club anthems. Tinashe’s “None Of My Business” deals with a secret toxic affair where she gives in to temptation despite knowing better.
Earlier this week, Tinashe visited ABC’s Good Morning America to perform “Tightrope,” which appears on BB/ANG3L.
BB/ANG3L is the follow-up to Tinashe’s 333 (Deluxe), the extended version of her 2021 album. The original version of 333 earned a coveted position on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
In August, Tinashe and British artist Shygirl unveiled dates for their co-headlining tour this fall. The joint trek will cover venues in North America, starting Oct. 28 and concluding Nov. 18. For more information, visit ratedrnb.com.
