Usher’s new duet with H.E.R., “Risk It All,” has made a splash on a new Billboard chart the week dated Dec. 23.
The heartfelt duet, co-written and produced by H.E.R., starts at No. 21 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. This marks Usher’s 37th entry on this chart, which he currently leads for a fifth non-consecutive week with “Good Good” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage.
The latter track, produced by Mel & Mus, marks his eighth No. 1 hit on this chart.
“Risk It All” is H.E.R’s 11th appearance on this chart, with eight reaching the top 10 and seven topping.
Additionally, “Risk It All” moves from No. 47 to No. 36 in its second week on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Usher has now landed 67 entries on this chart, including 16 No. 1s and 35 top 10s, while H.E.R. has charted a dozen times, including five top 10s.
Usher and H.E.R.’s “Risk It All” is climbing up the radio charts, hiking up to No. 14 on R&B radio and making its way to No. 44 on urban radio.
“Risk It All” has garnered more than 436,000 streams on Spotify since it was released Dec. 7 via Usher and L.A. Reid’s mega imprint, in partnership with Larry Jackson’s gamma.
The collaboration was first released as the second offering from The Color Purple (Music From and Inspired By) soundtrack, available now.
Usher announced last week that “Risk It All” will now be a part of the tracklist for his ninth studio album, Coming Home, set to arrive on Feb. 9, 2024.
His anticipated album also includes “Good Good” and his official remix to “Standing Next to You” by K-pop artist Jung Kook.
“We’ve put a lot of thought and creativity into this new album to tell a story that is open to interpretation and that will connect with people in different ways,” said Usher. “I know this has been a long time coming for my fans and what I’ll say is that all good things come to those who wait. I hope you enjoy it once you hear it.”
On Feb. 11, 2024, Usher will headline Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As for H.E.R., the Oscar and Grammy winner will play Squeak in the musical adaptation of The Color Purple. The movie will be released on Dec. 25 in the U.S. and globally on Jan. 18, 2024.
H.E.R. released a cover of Foo Fighters’ “The Glass” in November and an empowering new song, “The Journey,” written by Diane Warren, this spring.
