Lucky Daye is dropping new music this month. The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter revealed his next single, “Hericane,” will release April 19.
The New Orleans native shared the news Wednesday (April 3) on Instagram, along with a pre-save link.
Daye first teased “Hericane” track in March. He posted a video of him in a car playing a snippet of the track.
“I’ll take you to the top floor, baby / If you want it, don’t let me go / Hold on, just ride / What you wanna do? / I’ll drive you through midnight Let it rain, baby, rain,” he sings in the clip.

“Hericane” will mark Daye’s first song release of 2024. Last November, he shared his D’Mile and Bruno Mars-produced single “That’s You.”
Speaking on the track, Daye shared, “I sang my heart out on ‘That’s You.’ I felt like I was on the moon. I want people to think about that one person they just can’t be without when they listen. Hopefully, that person is a good person.”
“That’s You” debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart dated for Jan. 27. Since then, the funky groove peaked at No. 15. At the time of publication, “That’s You” is No. 17 on the Adult R&B Airplay.
“Hericane” and “That’s You” are expected to appear on Daye’s forthcoming third studio album.
In 2022, he released his sophomore effort, Candydrip, which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. Candydrip was No. 1 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list. “Candydrip is a fitting album title; it serves savory tracks galore that can be placed at the forefront of any endcap, whether at a general store or a music shop,” wrote Jakori Beauchamp.
