R&B powerhouse Keke Wyatt has revealed her new album, Certified, will release June 28 via Shanachie Entertainment.
The 10-track project includes the lead single “Water Into Wine” and the title track, which is out today.
“Certified” is a sultry bedroom banger that hears Wyatt inviting her partner into her love zone. “So I hope that you ain’t scared to wet the bed up / We gon’ turn this to a slip and slide,” she sings.
Wyatt co-wrote “Certified” with Kissie Lee, Elvis Williams, and Alphonso Crawford.
Certified is Wyatt’s first album in seven years, following 2017’s Keke Covers.
The latter genre-bending project consisted of Wyatt’s interpretation of 10 popular songs, including Beyoncé‘s “Love On Top,” David Allan Coe’s “Tennessee Whiskey,” Jeremih’s “Oui,” and Prince & The New Power Generation’s “Diamonds and Pearls.”
Wyatt’s last original album, Rated Love, was released in 2016. The deluxe edition included the fan-favorite “Jodeci.”
In January 2023, Wyatt announced her new record deal with Shanachie Entertainment. She was previously signed to the label where she released 2010’s Who Knew? and 2011’s Unbelievable.
“I really feel good about signing with Shanachie!” said Wyatt. “I’m excited and finally ready. I feel like this time we will create magic together and make HISTORY!”
She added, “I want to give my fans the gift of love, hope and trust with my new music. However, don’t get it twisted because I’m singing about it all. I think everyone will be able to relate to this album.”
