Coco Jones has joined forces with rap superstar Future and producer London On Da Track for her new song “Most Beautiful Design.”
Arriving just in time for cuffing season, “Most Beautiful Design” hears Future and Jones reaffirming their commitment to their respective love interests.
“A woman to me so amazing, yeah / The most beautiful design God made / Stayed by my side like my real dawg / And you always on time, never missed a road call,” Future raps in the chorus.
Jones reappears later in the song for verse two, singing, “I’ma stay by your side like I’m your B / Signing all for you through the death of me / You can see what you share, baby, the bed / You be so kind, baby, don’t you know I’m Heaven-sent.”
Speaking on “Most Beautiful Design,” Jones says, “I’ve always been a fan of rap and R&B duets, so being able to modernize that format alongside Future – a rapper with such longevity and years of success in the game, is so exciting to me.”
She continues, “‘Most Beautiful Design’ is the space London on da Track discovered where both of our worlds collide and we get to find common ground as, rapper and singer, and as man and woman.”
“Most Beautiful Design” follows Jones’ “Sweep It Up,” also produced by London on da Track, with writing support from Leon Thomas. “I am so excited to give the world an uptempo R&B bop… I’ve been waiting on this for a while,” Jones said.
Before that, Jones released “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” in May. The soulful track, which samples Lenny Williams’ “‘Cause I Love You,” was produced by Cardiak and Wu10. This week, “Here We Go” entered the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, marking Jones’ second top 10 hit as a lead artist.
“Most Beautiful Design,” “Sweep It Up” and “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” will appear on Jones’ forthcoming debut album that will release via High Standardz/Def Jam Recordings.
In an interview with Rated R&B, Jones revealed she recorded approximately 40 songs for her currently untitled debut album.
“One thing that I realized is as much as you try, the more you’ll get to choose from. I would rather have tried out all lanes, all the combinations [and] all the emotions than be like, ‘Did I record enough?’ I can’t deal with the what-ifs. I can’t. I just want to walk away feeling like I did it all,” Jones said.
Jones also discussed how she was ready to expand her sound after making her debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You.
“The EP made me want to explore different sounds [and] different genres, seeing how I could mix them. I felt like a scientist whose one experiment did really well, and it’s like, ‘Oh damn, okay.’ Now I’m getting all mad creative, just trying a bunch of different things because I’m like, ‘That was good. Let’s see what else I can do.’ [I’m] just motivated,” Jones told Rated R&B.
Speaking of What I Didn’t Tell You, the 2022 EP that was reissued in 2023 with a deluxe edition, included Jones’ breakout hit “ICU.” The platinum-selling No. 1 hit, produced by Camper, won Best R&B Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards in February.
Jones was nominated in four other categories, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Album (What I Didn’t Tell You – Deluxe), Best R&B Song (“ICU”) and Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Simple” with Babyface).
