TA Thomas doesn’t want any drama this holiday season. The rising crooner has released “Under The Tree,” an original festive track, which he co-wrote with Tyion “TC” Mack (Brandy, Keyshia Cole).
On the cozy track, produced by Johnny Thomas Jr., TA sings about his desire to get up close with his partner under the Christmas tree instead of bickering.
“The city lights all dressed in what / It’s feeling like a silent night, I / Just wanna be with the one I love / It’s supposed to be the happiest season / So why are arguin’ for no reason?” he sings in verse one.
“Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I wanted to do something special to help y’all get into the spirit,” TA wrote on Instagram.
“Under The Tree” is TA Thomas’ first song released in 2024, following “Risky” and “Angry.” The former track, also co-written by TC Mack, marked his first release since signing a record deal with High Standardz and Def Jam Recordings.
Regarding “Angry,” TA exclusively told Rated R&B, “I like a little tension. I like it when the room is a little heated. I wrote this with a good friend of mine, Sage White. It’s super sexy. I’m basically painting this world of my girl being pissed off and I’m finna use that energy to make a movie.”
In 2023, the Mississippi native released his debut EP, Caught Between 2 Worlds. The project was primarily produced by award-winning producer Camper.
“We’re coming to a moment in time where guys are becoming a lot more vulnerable. This project embodies the male perspective of being in and out of love,” TA told Rated R&B.
