Ledisi was part of the lineup for the Super Bowl LIX pregame show on Sunday (Feb. 9) at Caesars Superdome in her hometown, New Orleans.
The Grammy-winning vocalist performed a stirring rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” commonly referred to as “The Black National Anthem.”
Ledisi, donning an all-white ensemble, was joined by a choir of 125 New Orleans high school students in honor of the hymn’s 125th anniversary.

At the Super Bowl LIX Press Conference on Thursday (Feb. 6), Ledisi shared what her appearance at the Big Game meant to her.
“I just keep thinking of this little girl from Hollygrove, riding her bike, singing with her family, moving to Oakland, then going around the world on bigger stages and then coming back here — back home — wanting to show that I am from here too. To be given that moment, I’m thinking of all that,” Ledisi told Apple Music’s Nadeska, while holding back tears.
Ledisi’s appearance at Super Bowl LIX comes on the heels of her new song “Love You Too.” The Rex Rideout-produced track is her first musical offering since releasing her album Good Life in January 2024.
“Good Life is a celebration of life’s joy, love, and resilience,” Ledisi told Rated R&B. “It captures unique moments in a musical journey that mirrors the human experience. Join me in finding beauty in our shared humanity through every note and lyric.”
On Feb. 21, Ledisi will release a new song “BLKWMN,” which she co-wrote with Jacques-Pierre. She shared a snipped of the track with a montage of influential Black women.
