Lifetime has revealed its new original movie, Single Black Female 3: The Final Chapter, will premiere March 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
The final installment of the Single Black Female trilogy will see Raven Goodwin, Amber Riley and K. Michelle reprise their starring roles.
New cast members include reality star Porsha Williams as Detective Ebony Williams and Kennedy Chanel as Simone’s daughter Joy.
Per the logline, “After being wrongfully convicted of murder, Monica (Raven Goodwin) has finally been exonerated—but freedom comes at a price. Though the charges against her have been dropped, the stain of suspicion lingers, and reclaiming her life, her career, and the trust of those around her is proving to be an uphill battle. Meanwhile, the real threat has yet to vanish.”
It continues, “Simone (Amber Riley), now a fugitive, has fled to a convent in Mexico, having no choice but to abandon Houston, along with the one thing she truly cared about—her daughter, Joy (Kennedy Chanel). When a terrifying nightmare shakes her to the core, Simone becomes convinced Joy is in danger and returns to Houston, for a final reckoning between the estranged half-sisters. It’s only a matter of time before old grudges resurface and Monica and Simone come face-to-face. K. Michelle reprises her role as Monica’s best friend Bebe.”

Single Black Female 3: The Final Chapter is produced by Swirl Films for Lifetime. Sa’Rah L writes the Keena Ferguson-directed film. Jones and Tessa Scott.
Single Black Female 3 comes a year after Single Black Female 2: Simone’s Revenge, premiered in March 2024. The latter movie took place three years after Monica escaped the murderous clutches of her half-sister, Simone. She relocated to Seattle for a fresh start as a host of one of the city’s primetime investigative TV programs. Meanwhile, Simone, who was suffering from amnesia and building a new life, came across Monica on TV — triggering the return of those memories.
The first installment of Single Black Female premiered in February 2022. The movie introduced viewers to Monica, who was trying to grapple with losing her father and experiencing a romantic rift. After accepting a gig as a daytime talk show host, she met her new assistant, Simone, who started developing obsessive feelings for her.
In January, Lifetime premiered Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair as part of its Voices of a Lifetime movie slate. It marked the third installment of the movie series, beginning with 2023’s Mary J. Blige’s Real Love, followed by Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman.
In other acting news, K. Michelle is heading on the road for Jason’s Lyric Live, a theatrical adaption of the 1994 film. She plays Lyric’s best friend Marti. The nationwide play, which stars Allen Payne, who played Jason in the original movie, kicks off Feb. 13 in Houston.
