Rising R&B star Josh Levi puts in an early bid for summer anthem with his new single “Feel the Bass” featuring BEAM.
The knocking production and club-friendly lyrics make you want to get up and dance. BEAM’s autotune-laced vocals skate over the smooth yet booming bass. “She tryna feel the bass / Hear the ace / Heal the ace / Feel the bass / Tilt the case / Feel the bass / Feel the bass,” he chants.
With a runtime of 1 minute, 37 seconds, “Feel the Bass” will require multiple listens — and has the replay value to back it up.
“Feel the Bass” officially kicks off a new era for Levi, who is set to drop his debut album this summer via Issa Rae’s Raedio/Atlantic Records.
He says of his new single, “‘FEEL THE BA$$’ is the introduction and first trailer into the new world of Josh Levi. This track is made completely out of bass—and it’s all about the feeling!”
Levi continues, “It represents the adrenaline, energy, and the vibration that is to come in my debut album. This one is for all the people that like to feel music in their veins and are ready to ride along with me into something special.”

“Feel the Bass” is Levi’s first song in nearly a year following “Something More,” released in May 2024. A year prior, he released his Disc Two (Scratched Up) EP, an expanded version of his 2022 project.
Scratched Up featured all eight tracks from Disc Two, including the Normani-assisted “Don’t They (Remix),” plus bops like “Ego” and “Birthday Dance.”
Regarding the latter track, Levi told Rated R&B, “‘Birthday Dance’ is an excuse to feel good without having a reason. It’s something you don’t have to think hard about and forces you to smile and move. It’s the gratitude of having another day of life and a good time with people you enjoy.”
At the time of this writing, “Birthday Dance” has over 32 million streams on Spotify.
In a 2023 interview with Rated R&B, Levi revealed he started working on his first full-length project. “I’m working on my album,” he said. “Someone told me you spend your whole life making your first album. I’m always thinking about that. I’m very intentional and detail-oriented about things. Building and putting together the first Josh Levi album is something that I’m thinking about and working on daily.”
