Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Asiahn has returned with her new single “Wassup Wit It.”

Produced by her fiancée, Jay Shalé, “Wassup Wit It” bounces with pure flirt and confidence. “I act but ain’t acting baby / ‘Cause you is my favorite lady / Really I’m the one / Realer than they come,” she sings with a smirk.

Speaking on her new track, Asiahn explains, “I’m tapping into a side of me that the public rarely sees. It’s sexy. It’s confident. It’s a summer bop. It’s me stepping into my grown womanhood.”

“Wassup Wit It” arrives with a self-directed music video that has a sci-fi edge. Asiahn treats viewers to a snippet of a sultry track that plays toward the end of the video. The final scene shows her performing a sensual dance for Shalé, who sits comfortably in a chair.

“Wassup Wit It” is the first single from Asiahn’s upcoming album, FREE, which releases May 16 via Love Train Records. The album is described as “a revelation—a shedding of past heartaches, a release from the weight of the world’s expectations, and an awakening to love in its purest form.”

FREE will mark Asiahn’s first project since her 2021 EP, The Interlude, released via Motown Records. The five-track set included the singles “Gucci Frames” featuring Grandmaster Vic and “Get Away.”

Since then, Asiahn has released a few standalone tracks, including 2023’s “Do Bad” and “Feel Good” and 2024’s “IJS.”

Aside from music, the singer, born Asiahn Bryant, is the starring voice of Karma Grant in the Netflix animated series Karma’s World. The four-season show, created by Ludacris, who also stars as Conrad Grant, ran from October 2021 through September 2022.

Circling back to FREE, it will mark Asiahn’s first album since 2019’s Love Train 2, the sequel to her debut album, Love Train (2017).
