Rising R&B singer-songwriter Asiahn (pronounced “Ahh-zee-yahn”) makes her major-label debut with her new EP, The Interlude, via Sincethe80s/Motown Records. The five-song set includes Asiahn’s previously released songs “Get Away” and “Gucci Frames.”
For 12 minutes, Asiahn’s angelic vocals float over soothing productions, as she shares her journey to self-discovery and self-love after a breakup.
“It’s important that as an artist I not only sing about love. There’s more to life than just being in a relationship and falling in and out of love with others,” Asiahn said in a press statement. “We also have to fall in love with ourselves, discover what we like and dislike, explore our sexuality, get drunk and have fun. We have to Live!”
The Interlude is just a snippet of what Asiahn has in store for her fans. “If I’m going through something hard, I don’t wanna write about it until I’ve healed, because otherwise I’m bringing you into my negative space and I have no resolve for you,” she said. “And with this project, I wanna make sure I’m giving you just enough to be satisfied, but not enough to be full.”
The project follows 2019’s Love Train 2 and 2017’s Love Train, which have both become fan-favorites.
