Leon Thomas‘ breakout hit “Mutt” continues to bark up the charts.
The D. Phelps and Freaky Rob-produced track rises from No. 4 to No. 1 this week at urban radio, bumping Drake’s “Nokia” to No. 5.
According to Mediabase, “Mutt” received 5,685 spins and reached 14.98 million in audience impressions.

“Mutt” is Thomas’ first hit No. 1 at urban radio, but it certainly isn’t his only No. 1. On Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart, “Mutt” jumps from No. 2 to No. 1 in its 16th week on the chart, becoming Thomas’ first leader on this chart.
Elsewhere on Billboard, “Mutt” is No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs for a seventh week, No. 3 on R&B Digital Song Sales (No. 1 peak), No. 5 on Rhythmic Airplay (peak position), No. 18 on the Hot 100 (No. 13 peak) and No. 19 on Radio Songs (peak position).
“Mutt” is the title track to Thomas’ sophomore album, which was released in September 2024 via Ty Dolla $ign‘s EZMNY/Motown Records.
On Friday (May 30), Thomas will release MUTT Deluxe: HEEL. The expanded set is described as “a natural continuation of the original” that “digs deeper into Leon’s sonic universe – fetching a bold blend of psychedelic R&B, rock textures, soul, and boundary-pushing production.”
HEEL will feature the previously shared “Mutt (CB Remix)” with Chris Brown and “Rather Be Alone” featuring Halle, plus collaborations with Kehlani and Big Sean, who appears on two tracks.
