Chris Brown has achieved another No. 1 hit on Billboard.

His Grammy-nominated ballad “Residuals” rises to the top spot on the Adult R&B Airplay chart dated April 5. It marks the R&B titan’s sixth No. 1 on this chart, all of which he earned in the 2020s.

Prior to “Residuals,” Brown’s last visit to No. 1 was in August 2024 with “Sensational,” featuring Davido and Lojay. The R&B-Afrobeats tune spent eight weeks atop the summit, becoming Brown’s second longest-running No. 1 on this chart.

Further, “Residuals” is the second single from Brown’s Grammy-winning album 11:11 (Deluxe) to reach No. 1. It marks his first time having multiple singles from the same album lead this chart. It’s also worth noting that “Residuals” is Brown’s first solo chart-topper on the Adult R&B Airplay list.

Here is an overview of Chris Brown’s No. 1s on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart:

  • “No Guidance” featuring Drake, No. 1 for 11 weeks (2020)
  • “Go Crazy” with Young Thug, No. 1 for seven weeks (2020)
  • “Come Through,” H.E.R. featuring Chris Brown, No. 1 for one week (2022)
  • “See Through Love,” Tank featuring Chris Brown, No. 1 for one week (2023)
  • “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay, No. 1 for eight weeks (2024)
  • “Residuals,” No. 1 for one week so far (2025)

“Residuals” debuted on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in November 2024. By February, it reached the top 10 region, tallying Brown’s eighth.

Aside from the Adult R&B Airplay, “Residuals” previously went No. 1 on the following Billboard charts: Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (four weeks), R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (three weeks), Rhythmic Airplay (one week) and R&B Digital Song Sales (one week).

This summer, Brown will embark on his Breezy Bowl XX Stadium Tour with special guests Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller. The tour will commemorate Brown’s 20 years in the music industry, as his self-titled debut album marks its 20th anniversary this December.

The European leg kicks off June 8 in Amsterdam and will conclude July 5 in Paris. The North American leg begins July 30 in Miami and wraps up Sept. 20 in Las Vegas, though Brown has indicated more dates will be announced in the near future.
