Singer-songwriter ROE has returned with her new single “In My Skin.”
Produced by Ric Rude, the sultry tune captures the anticipation of a body-to-body connection after being away for work.
The production teases that feeling of desire — laden with cinematic strings, delicate bass and electronic guitar — creating a build-up that leaves listeners wanting more.
“Imma get this money / But when I get home / Imma need you in my skin,” she sings over a sensual backdrop.
“‘In My Skin’ is about work/love life balance. It’s like, I’m really busy but it doesn’t affect how I feel about the connection — and the anticipation of being back in my person’s presence is heated,” explains ROE.

“In My Skin” is the first single from the Venice, California, native’s upcoming project. Her debut EP, My Way, was released in May 2021 and included the singles “I Like” and “Fool 4 U.”
Speaking on her debut single, “I Like,” ROE told Rated R&B, “It’s very sexy, it’s diamonds, it’s champagne, it’s my vibe. In three words: luxurious, sexy, fun.”
As for “Fool 4 U,” she noted that it “is a complicated love song… both vulnerable and real. It’s me saying, ‘I’m bending the rules a little bit for you because the love is so strong,’ and I’m taking the good with the bad. There’s nothing left to do but be a fool for you.”
Aside from her solo work, ROE has penned songs for Chloe x Halle (“80/20”), Kiana Ledé (“Shame”), Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion (“Lick”), as well as contributed background vocals to Usher‘s “Papers,” among others.
