Genre-defying artists Jane Handcock and Anderson .Paak have joined forces for “Stare at Me.”

Over a disco-funk groove, helmed by N.W.I. (.Paak, Jairus Mozee and J. LBS), Handcock and .Paak portray love interests whose hearts ignite through each other’s gaze. The dance floor-filling track captures that sensational feeling of eye contact and the passion it sparks.

“Something ’bout the way you stare at me / Think you might have put a spell on me,” Handcock sings in the chorus, which winks at DeBarge’s “I Like It.” .Paak later responds, “I’d do anything to make you look.”

With summer just getting started, “Stare at Me” is already looking like an essential soundtrack for cookouts and other gatherings.

“Stare at Me” arrives with a quirky music video directed by C.T. Robert and Andrpw, which can be watched below.

“Stare at Me” is the third single from Handcock’s upcoming album, It’s Me, Not You, following “Stingy” and “Can’t Let Go.”

The 15-track album, which releases July 11 via Death Row Records/gamma, will include additional features from Snoop Dogg and BJ the Chicago Kid.

According to press materials, It’s Me, Not You is Handcock’s “most confident and cohesive body of work yet,” with “a bold blend of intimacy, storytelling, and sonic freedom.”

“Stare at Me” is .Paak’s second collaborative track of 2025. In May, he released “Everybody Gets Down” with producer Knxlwedge, together known as NxWorries.

The silky dance track is the duo’s first single since releasing their Grammy-winning album Why Lawd? in 2024.

In other music news, .Paak co-wrote and co-produced Mariah Carey‘s latest single “Type Dangerous.” The trunk-rattling, hip-hop soul bop debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
