Jagged Edge is back with a new single titled “Inseparable,” co-written by members Brian and Brandon Casey. It’s the lead single from their forthcoming 11th studio album, All Original Parts.

In an recent exclusive interview with Rated R&B, members Richard Wingo and Kyle Norman broke down the inspiration and sonic direction for “Inseparable.”

“It’s self-explanatory, man. ‘Girl, we’re inseparable,'” said Richard. “That’s just what it is. Love is a funny thing. It hurts, and it feels good. That’s the only thing we can give you with our music. We’re not going too far outside what our fans love us for. We’re gonna stay right here in that Jagged Edge block.”

Kyle added, “This particular record, though, I think once you go through all the relationships you’ve been through and you experience where you went wrong, where she went wrong, where it went wrong, when you finally meet that person, it’s like you met that match.”

Noted earlier, “Inseparable” is Jagged Edge’s first piece of new music this year. Their next album, All Original Parts, is on the way and will follow A Jagged Edge Story, which was released in 2020. The LP, released via their Hardcase imprint, included 31 songs, a few of which were “Genie” and “How to Fix It.”

More recently, Jagged Edge collaborated with R&B duo dvsn on the new single “What’s Up.” It serves as The Apology, chapter two of a multi-chapter rollout for dvsn’s untitled fourth studio album.

“I enjoy being around both of them brothers, but Daniel specifically,” Brandon exclusively told Rated R&B of his experience with dvsn. “I’ve gotten in the studio with him a little bit more. But they are super-talented [and] super humble. I feel like the game is gonna give them a lot in the end.”

Jagged Edge, celebrating its 25th year in the music industry, performed at ONE Musicfest in Atlanta, Georgia. The two-day festival was held Oct. 8 through Oct. 9.

The group expressed to Rated R&B their excitement to take the stage at the ONE Musicfest. “We get love in a lot of cities, but it’s different when it’s at home. It kind of reminds you how of far you came — the days when you were wishing that you were one of those artists that the city cared about,” shared Brandon.

“We’ve made that a reality, and every time we get in front of them, it feels awesome, for real.”
