Naomi Sharon is entering a new era. The majestic vocalist has unveiled her new EP The Only Love We Know will release May 9 via OVO Sound.

The six-track EP, executive produced by Jordan Ullman of Majid Jordan, will include “Can We Do This Over” and the freshly released title track.

On “The Only Love We Know,” Sharon grapples with the reality of a fading relationship. She sings in the second verse: “Do we know what is right without pressure? / All I got is pride to do it better / But this love is a lie / We can’t hold together.”

Sharon released “Can We Do This Over” on March 27, her first song in nearly a year. Regarding the track, she said, “I remember being in a vulnerable phase. Together with Justin Tranter, the co-writer, I wrote a beautiful lyric that perfectly captured how I was feeling. That was a special experience. It is always great when you are completely in sync with a writer or producer.”

She continued, “It felt like a very open and honest process. We decided to start acoustically to see what kind of song would emerge, instead of immediately adding a full production. This allowed us to experiment with different elements and instruments. Eren Cannata, Jordan Ullman and Alex Lustig guided this process beautifully. When I received the first version, it immediately felt right. I had shared my ideas, and they interpreted them in their own way, aligning perfectly with my vision. That connection is very important to me in the creative process.”

The Only Love We Know is the follow-up to Naomi Sharon’s debut album, Obsidian, released in October 2023. The album included the singles “Another Life,” “Celestial,” “Regardless” and “Push” featuring Omah Lay.

Speaking on the album, Sharon said, “Obsidian is a protective stone that shields against negative energy. Given its sharpness, the stone is considered to pierce into darkness to reveal the truth itself. I called this album Obsidian as it’s about rebirth, confrontation and healing. [Obsidian] is just me being very vulnerable and that’s something that I’m missing in the industry right now.”
