H.E.R. is on a determined path to prove that she is a forced to be reckoned with. On Tuesday night (Oct. 9), the R&B songstress performed “As I Am” from her I Used to Know Her: The Prelude EP on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The 21-year-old artist starts off at the piano, demonstrating right off the bat she has the range. Then, the background singers came in to assist H.E.R. with sickening harmonies for extra depth to the performance. Towards the end, H.E.R. trades in the piano for a guitar and riffs it out as the song closes. Even though her attire was all black, coupled with dim staged lighting, her talent and ability to immerse the crowd shone through.
To further promote her extended play, the shadowy singer is set to embark on the I Used To Know HER Tour. The intimate affairs will begin on November 10 in Atlanta and will span 21 dates. H.E.R.’s final stop will be in San Francisco on December 20.
