The rollout for Leven Kali’s part one of Low Tide project is unraveling nicely. The free spirit crooner has released his new single “Mad At U,” along with its corresponding video.
Premiered on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music radio show, the song is about how Kali would rather be mad his at his current lover and work it out than to be spending time with a potential bae.
Over the bright and layered tropical beat, Kali sings on the pre-chorus, “We, we’ve been going through some bad times / I mean, you just see me in a bad light / I think me and you should take time out / One drink, suddenly it all doesn’t matter.”
Keeping with the calming nature theme like in his “Do U Wrong” video, Kali is seen on the beach in a number of performance shots.
On May 10, Kali will release the first installment of Low Tide. His High Tide project will wash in later this year.
Fans will get to see Kali perform both his new and old jams at the Roots Picnic in June at The Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia and at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival in August.
