What better way to make history than to “Rewrite It.” Mario is looking to break the cycle of systemic racism in this country on his latest single.
Anchored by a dreary production, the R&B veteran summons his fellow Black brothers and sisters to rise up and amend the conditioned emotional responses against social injustice.
“Don’t tell me how to express my pain / You know it ain’t fair you couldn’t handle this hell / You see all this love in the world / Maybe if you look deep inside of your soul / It’ll help you see the light,” he sings.
“Rewrite It” is the second track to be released by Mario this year. He previously issued the bedroom-ready single “Closer.” A silhouette-style music video of the song followed its release.
