What better way to make a music video for a new song during a pandemic than to give it an animated treatment? Mario considers this post-pandemic age of video making for his latest bedroom-ready jam “Closer.”
Rather than portray full-out animated characters, the R&B veteran and a sexy dancer are seen as silhouettes who work tirelessly to get closer to each other in suggestive ways.
Those afraid of snakes might want to cover their eyes during certain scenes. Two slithering creatures, as well as two-colored ropes and flowers, represent the uncontrollable attraction that one feels for someone they’re fond of.
The accompanying visual for “Closer” is sure to make you want to hear more from Mario who could be plotting a follow-up for 2018’s Dancing Shadows.
