Leon Thomas has started a new chapter in his music career. The singer/actor has released Genesis, a seven-track EP, that includes pre-released songs “PLW,” “Sunken Place” and “Favorite” featuring Buddy. The project features guest appearances from Elle Varner and Tayla Parx.
“We put a lot of work into this project and I feel like everybody is going to hear that when they listen to it,” Thomas tells Rated R&B. “It’s what I would call a home-cooked meal. It came from me jamming out and rocking out with all of my friends at their house [and] studios. It came from me traveling all over the world, learning new things about me, bringing it back to the states and giving myself perspective.”
For his new EP, Thomas wanted to experiment with different sounds to showcase his artistic abilities. “I’m not afraid to mess with different sounds,” he said. “I’m not afraid to try different pockets of tempos. So, you’ll really see a range of soundscape throughout this whole project.”
