When it comes to matters of the heart, Elle Varner knows what “Kinda Love” she deserves.
On her applauding new single, the Grammy-nominated singer details the behavior she isn’t willing to tolerate from a man.
Varner’s raspy tone is dormant on transparent track, but it also possesses a woozy twist that elevates her message of independence and self-love.
“I ain’t saying nothing crazy / It ain’t that deep, it’s not that complicated / Just want good loving and some conversation / If you ask me, it’s quite a combination,” she sings on the second verse.
“Kinda Love” is the second single from Varner this year. She previously released “Pour Me” featuring Wale, which she described to us as a “double entendre.”
Both tracks follow her acoustic-driven single “Loving U Blind,” which she released in fall 2018. The records are set to appear on her upcoming project.
Varner is slated to perform on night-one of the 2019 Essence Festival. Ticket information is available here.
