It’s not every day you get a co-sign from Raphael Saadiq on live television. Keep Cool’s Lucky Daye did, and allowed the legendary musician’s meaningful words to fuel his BET Awards debut performance of “Roll Some Mo.”
Dressed in a multicolored styled shirt, Daye gave the audience a surplus of passion with help from his four-piece band.
Following Saadiq’s generous plug, Daye’s debut album Painted shot to the number one spot on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart.
Daye will have more chances to stay on top when he performs at the 2019 Essence Music Festival and Summer Block Party concert series next month. He also is tapped for H.E.R.’s self-curated Lights On Festival in September.
Ahead of his BET Awards performance, Daye released a video for his latest single “Real Games.”
