Khalid keeps dropping hit after hit. The mainstream artist has landed his very first top 10 single on urban adult contemporary radio as “Talk” moves from No. 13 to No. 10 this week, according to Mediabase. The Disclosure-produced cut is up nearly 20 percent in airplay from last week with a reach of over six-million urban AC listeners.
With the airplay spike on the traditional R&B format, “Talk” has a strong chance of becoming his first top 10 single on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in the coming weeks. The song is now at No. 12 after rising five spots since last week.
The melodic love song continues to rule the number-one spot on top 40 radio while holding strong to top five positions on rhythmic and urban radio, respectively. Khalid scored his second chart leader on rhythmic radio with “Talk” back in May. His Megan Thee Stallion and Yo Gotti-assisted remix is pushing the spins on urban radio.
Khalid continues to stay busy as he supports Free Spirit album on his first-ever headlining tour. He just linked with Ed Sheeran for “Beautiful People” and opened a music and fine arts foundation in his hometown of El Paso, Texas.
