Masego knows how to rock a crowd. The soul maestro served as the latest musical guest on NPR’s Tiny Desk series, and truly outdid himself.
Masego made every moment of his 20-minute performance unforgettable. From the start of his set, the gifted maverick made no point to take himself too serious with a hilarious ice-breaker from a special guest.
Elsewhere in his jam session, Masego revealed his other talents beyond music like juggling wattle bottles and making it rain in the NPR headquarters with $100 bills with his face. He did all those cheeky antics while still managing to perform Lady Lady tunes “Tadow” and “Queen Tings” and pay homage to Cab Calloway.
Masego, who appears on Ari Lennox’s debut album Shea Butter Baby, will be on the road this summer and fall. He is slated to play at the 2019 Lollapalooza, the Outside Lands Festival, Afropunk Brooklyn and Atlanta, and more. Ticket for these shows and more are available on his official website.
